  1. Have bought a DVD autochanger and would like to remove my factory fit video player. Does anyone know what the existing power connectors wires are? There are 3 wires going into the connector, red, pale red and black. Cheers
  2. Cheers Guys, With the warm weather the inside of my Gal is boiling so the Sat Nav unit today has slowly dried out and is now fully functional. Phew thought I would have to go on holiday to France with no music or video and also the thought of reading a map scares me. To all you fuel conscious Gal drivers, my V6 will be certainly be put to the test over the next three weeks on the French autoroutes. I will report back later with consumption figures to all you diesel polluting drivers. Thanks again for the advice guys Kind regards
  3. Help, have tonight knocked a can of drink into my sat nav unit. The unit was dead for an hour but has now come back on with a dull screen. I am leaving the unit to dry out overnight and will try again. What a place to put a drinks holder right above the radio unit!! I go to France on Monday so hopefully it will be resolved. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards
  4. Well my gal is certainly not rough!!
  5. Or perhaps trade her in for a new model!!!
  6. My clutch decided to pack up at 22000 miles and 2 1/2 years old. I tried to have it done under warranty but as always a clause. All consumable parts are only covered for the first year. So anyway I had to fork out for a new clutch and flywheel, costing
  7. Hi Fun time. I had the same problem, bought an ex demo loaded with extras, but unambe to play any cds. This subject has been covered on this site before, here is the link: CD with Sat Nav The way I got around it was to buy an MP3 player and interface adapter to plug into the Aux socket and have not looked back since. Anyway Jakey is the expert on all this.
  8. Hooraay, a great result from my local Ford dealer. Today they replaced my aircon compressor and recharged the system. All the work has been done under warranty. So at last I have a cool gal again. B) :D
  9. What a waste of a V6, my wife does the school run twice a day. The school is only a mile away, hence a new clutch after 20000 miles!! Roll on August when my Gal can have 600 miles to the South of France at great speed.
  10. Hi, Have recently purchased a portable Mp3 player and have plugged it into my Sat/Nav unit via a interface. Who needs cd players anymore and why don't the manufactures integrate an MP3 player into the head unit as an option. It sounds great, so no more cds cluttering up the floor.
  11. My Gals been to the Ford dealer today for aircon problems, they had it for an hour and said they have some bad news for me!! It was bad news for them the compressor has gone and its still under warranty. Having to wait for the part, hopefully that will be the solution.
  12. As you say there are better ways to spend your hols, with two young kids its no holiday!! However to escape for a few hours whilst my Gal is being serviced will be well earned.
  13. Has anyone had their Gal serviced over in France? Just think it may be alot cheaper, as generally the labour charges are less. Am going over in August and so would be an ideal time to save some
  14. Having dual zone aircon, it seems to me that the air coming out of the vents in the rear is far cooler than the front. I guess there are two aircon units in my Gal. Have yet to approach my main dealer for advice, it will depend if the aircon is covered under my 3 year warranty. Any clues?? Regards from a warm driver and freezing kids!
  15. My Aircon seems not as cold as last summer, any clues or is it a job for the garage? Regards The warm gal!
  16. 50+ MPG, I dream of getting 30. However the smooth V6 is fast, quiet and simply the best. :o
  17. :( Have over the Easter weekend fitted the interface into the back of my Sat Nav unit. The kids think having Noddy, Tweenies and Postman pat coming through the speakers is great. For me the driver after hearing Post man Pat for the 10th time, I think I am driving his van!! However would most definitely recommend the interface to all you owners of the sat nav/multimedia option.
  18. Cheers Top Bloke you were right, a fuse I could not get to. My local Ford dealer robbed me the sum of
  19. Further to the above post the climate control is not working!
  20. :( Help. My EPC warning light has come on along with the ABS & ESP warning lights. I have no indicators and no heated seats. Have checked fuses but they are all in tact. Hope someone could help or its down to the local Ford dealer tomorrow. Regards
  21. AAAHHH. Have this morning ordered a Soundlinx V/A interface, should arrive Saturday ish. To my horror tonight I discover the above message with the link to ebay. Could have saved myself a few quid if I checked out the forum first. Just goes to show the forum is the place to be. WARNING: Before you purchase anything for your Gal, checkout this forum first!!
  22. Hi, I would also like to plug a PDA into the back of my sat nav unit, through the aux socket. Did you have any luck? I have had great problems in removing the sat nav unit, however I can locate the aux socket on the rear of the unit by removing the climate control unit. What I need to know is what pin on the plug does what, so I can have the lead made up. Hope you can be of assistance. Regards
  23. Hi, Anyone plugged a PDA into the Aux socket of a Blaupunkt RNS/MFD unit, so I can play MP3 files through my Gals speakers? If so does anyone have a wiring diagram of the aux socket? Use hopefull Regards
  24. Thanks, I will try my local VAG dealer for the keys. Yours hopefull.
  25. Please help me, I am desperate to release my Sat Nav unit. Have made several attempts using the correct keys, also got the local car audio specialist to have a go, but we have all failed. Any top tips would be appreciated.
