  1. I have a 2004 Galaxy 1.9 TDi Zetec with AUY Engine Initially, it used to go into limp mode quite often, whilst on the Motorway, but this reduced dramatically. It now only happens once on every trip. Apart from that, vehicle is fine. I get the get the following fault codes :- 17965/P1557/005463 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation 17964/P1556/005462 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation According to Ross-Tech it could be one of 3 things:- Charger Pressure Control defective VNT (variable nozzle turbo): nozzles stuck Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control (N75) defective I do not think any of the hoses or pipes have a leak or are blocked. Any suggestions as to what it may be, how I can fix it and the best process to follow.
  2. Hi Any views on whether engine carbon cleaning is any good... www.enginecarbonclean.com I have a Galaxy Mk 2 1.9tdi
  3. Can the Turbo on a Galaxy Mk2 1.9 tdi be reconditioned ? Garrett literature says NO, but other websites say yes. If it can be reconditioned, can anyone suggest any good companies to get it reconditioned by ? Someone else also said that high-speed motorway driving can clear a clogged-up turbo.... is that true ? any help appreciated
  4. Hi I have a 2004 Galaxy Zetec TDI I have noticed that the Front Brake Discs are large than the Rear Brake Discs.... why is this ? Does this affect my braking, as when I brake, the vehicle veers to the left..... I was going to have my brakes checked as I thought that maybe the left front brake caliper is sticking. Any help appreciated.
  5. My Galaxy goes into limp mode sometimes - mainly on motorway I get the error code - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation - http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17965/P1557/005463 My Mechanic has suggested I need to get my turbo reconditioned as it - he suggested Midlan Turbos Its a Garrett Turbo - GT1749V - Garrett say it cannot be reconditioned, but then their own Distributor offers this service !!! I need help on:- a) whether I should get it reconditioned or not b) would a new turbo not be better than re-conditioning the existing one c) If I do get it re-conditioned, can anyone suggest any good company d) can anyone suggest whether it can be any other problem Thanks
  6. I purchased a Car in mid-May 2013 for £4050 from a Garage- it came with a 3 month warranty - £150 was paid with credit card and £3900 by cash. It is a 2004 Ford Galaxy. Within 2 weeks, it had broken down, so I took it back to the Garage where I purchased it from - they did a minor repair job, and it seemed ok.... until it broke down a week later.... when I took it back, they said that the previous time, an 'actuator was sticking, due to rust', so they had just freed it' - they have done no-further work on the car, I have done my own research and have found out that the 'actuator' is in fact, integral part of the Turbo system for the car - it cannot be repaired if it rusts away and the whole turbo system must be replaced, at a cost of almost £1000 I beleive they purchased from an Auction and sold on, knowing full well that it had a problem. It goes into Limp Mode - I had the code read and it was:- 17964 P1556 Charge Pressure Control - Negative Deviation I now need to get I need a full diagnosis of engine, plus inspection of Car and Engineers Report - Anyoneknow any specialist or good garage's in Peterborough that can help ? A few other interesting facts are:- when we where purchasing the car, the Salesman kept saying that he had to go and was rushing us to buy When we decided to purchase the vehicle, he would not show us the Service History or V5 document - he only showed us Service History and the MOT paper, after we had paid. Then we received a new V5 document from the DVLA, we discovered that it had 6 previous owners. On the service history, he said it was fully serviced, as that how it was advertised. My subsequent investigations have realised that the service history is fake, as the Garages on the service history say that they have never serviced this vehicle. Other things show that it does not match up to its description as listed in the advert. Also, the 3 month warranty - no paperwork was ever supplied for this, even though it was requested. I believe I have a strong case against the Garage - what do you think ? what parts of law, can I use to substantiate my case ?? Any help appreciated Thanks
