  1. Thanks mate. There must be some exact capacatity somewhere.
  2. PM sent mate
  3. Does anyone know what the capacity is? I know that when you drain the box there will be some left in the torque converter but need need some figures if anyone knows?
  4. Not sure how different the petrol is to the diesel but I did mine the other day and it was fairly straight forward. I removed the cover off the top of the engine and then only had to remove the air box to get to what I needed.
  5. Changed the fluid last night but made no difference. Anyone got any idea how much oil the gearbox holds? I know that the torque converter will hold some but how how much should be in the box and be able to be drained out?
  6. Will these all fit a 2001 Mk2 1.9 Tdi? If so How much to take the above of your hands mate?
  7. This is exactly where my pipe split. There is a join by the drivers wheel arch so I disconnected there and got that section from a scrappy for £20. You do need some sort of special tool tho to release the joint.
  8. Firstly I'd like to say hi as I'm new here. I searched google for my problem and came across this forum. I've had a look about on here and searched but can't find anything that matches my problem. Whilst looking you all seemed so friendly and helpful so I decided to sign up. Ok here goes..... I picked the car up on Friday from a guy who took it in as a px. It's been sitting there for some time which by my reckoning was about a year. Obviously the battery was flat but jump started fine and all seemed good. On my way home all was fine (other than a bit of a lack in power but then it had been sat for ages) until the box then started playing up. It will pull of in 1st and change to 2nd fine. 2nd to 3rd & 3rd to 4th it revs right up to about 4000rpm before changing only after I lift off the accelerator. 4th to 5th gear is fine. If is put it in tiptronic mode it will go through all the gears fine without revving high and will change down the box fine in both modes. Drove back about 70 miles and put it straight through an mot which it passed fine with no advisories. I had the garage also read for any fault codes whilst there including the gearbox but it came back with nothing. On Saturday the car displayed Alternator Workshop and died on me. I eliminated other problems and replaced the alternator on Sunday and all was good. I've noticed that when I first start the car and drive off with the car in drive it goes through all the gears fine for a short time. Monday was about 500 - 600 yards then it stopped again and this morning it was about a mile or two when it decided to drop down a gear and play up again. It was advertised as having a problem with not wanting to rev but this seems the opposite. This is what was in the advert.... "I took this car in part exchange it was running fine and drove very good it was parked up for a while I charged the battery up the car starst up and drives but don't want to rev up ive been told by a mechanic that it might be the throttle body control unit or something down those lines" Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Adam.
