  1. I was told a fixed towbar might trigger the reversing sensors (especially if I had a witter bike bracket fitted) so was advised to go for a removable one. I wouldn't know if there was a problem until the towbar was fitted by which time it would be too late to change. So I opted for removable to be safe. I wanted to fit a flange bike rack and bumper guard so opted for a Witter removable flange type. At the time Witter online were only charging an extra
  2. 2010 2.0 TDCi Zetec been experiencing 'Transmission Limited Function' on dashboard. When the warning appears I put car into manual and find I only have gears 1,3&5 or 2,4&6. I switch engine off and on again and all problems go away. I can drive several miles before warning reappears. Galaxy has been back to Ford dealer several times and has had clutch assembly replaced. But last week the warning appeared again and when I went into manual the dashboard said I was in gear 7! Also on this occasion there was no drive at all and engine warning light came on. I switched off and on and everything worked correctly. The car is back with the dealer. They've discovered they should have replaced speed sensor when they replaced the clutch so are replacing speed sensor free of charge. They have spoken to Ford technical who said they have never heard of hear 7 being displayed on dashboard. Anyone else heard of this before?
  3. I complained to the dealer and they replaced it free of charge.
  4. The illumination lights for my speedo on my 2010 Ford Galaxy TDCi Zetec have started flickering - not all of them, only the ones at 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock: sometimes they're on, sometimes off, sometimes flickering on and off. I guess the bulbs are working lose. How do I get to them?
  5. The fuel flap on my 2010 Galaxy (cap-less system) opens when I drive. Usually it opens about 1 cm and when I close it the flap is not aligned with the recess into which it fits. It is as if the hinge is broken at the bottom. How do I remove the flap to inspect the hinge? When I'm parked at the side of the road sometimes the turbulence caused by passing vehicles causes the flap to open fully.
  6. Is it possible to retro fit cruise control to a 2010 2.0 TDCi Powershift? Is it something a dealer can do?
  7. Collected our Galaxy yesterday. 2010 2.0 TDCI 140 Zetec 5DR Powershift and started reading through the manual. I appreciate the manual covers all models and options of which many won't be in a Zetec. The manual refers to an ESP light in the instrument cluster and an ESP OFF switch by the air vents. Our Galaxy has the light in the instrument panel but no off switch. Does that mean we do have ESP but can't switch it off?
