bonkers

Hi I have had my Ford Galaxy TDi ghia for a couple of months and it has a few niggles that need sorting out but nothing that can`t wait. But yesterday I dropped the drivers sidelight while trying to fit it through the hatch in the wheel arch. I got my toolbox out to remove the headlight and found nothing in there was going to help me. Took my over an hour to get it out. So what basic essential tools need to be in my toolbox to fix my TDi ghia ? Basic jobs like change pollen filter, not full engine builds I already have a WinXP laptop setup with a VAG cable, I have problems with win7 but its still the best £5.95 Ive spent on the car. Any help much appreciated
