Hi Neil Just having same kinda problem from same kinda place of the engine last january... I do live in Finland, the land of "siberian simulation" really especially in this wintertime... We have had some 25-35 minus degrees C for about three weeks almost continuously... I just came from work, having amazed the hard smoke onto exhaus pipes. Engine cut off, I stepped out and saw the trails of oil till the pipes, went then under the bonnet to look the oil dip. Just when lifted the dip, fire popped out somewhere at the situation you described... And all the time thicker smoke... Then, after the visit of the local fire brigade and the towing car, Galaxy spent some one and a half month at the Ford-dealer... Finally seemed to be - primary reason was the frozen engine breather system. Pressure then forced the engine oil to the exhaust system (first thought was via the turbo) and the hot oil got much more hotter in the DPF, which set on fire. Luckily enough, the fire set off as soon as started. Damaged parts of course were the dpf, catalyst, big part of the pipes, heat shealds and so on. But the turbocharger, undamaged. Now the car is in the everyday use. No traces whatsoever, engine seems and hears to be ok. This kinda problems are been quite usual here with the french made cars specially, the breather problems in wintertime. This engine IS based on PSA tdci -engines... Similarity???! Jussi
