Offside Indicators Sticking!
musicman replied to musicman's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
ahh thankyou i never new that, i will try that, any idea where they are situated? -
I have an S reg 2.3 ghia Galaxy. Occasionaly the offside indicators stick on, the front, side, rear and the light on the dash just stay on solid and i have to spend a minute or two turning ignition/lights/indicators and hazards on and off repeatedly to get things back to normal, this is also something i can't do when driving obviously, i do a lot of motorway driving and whilst i am sometimes fortunate that i can just play with the indicators left, right, left, right and it clears, quite often i have to stop and spend a couple of minutes messing around with them to get things normal again. Someone told me it could be either the stalks or the relay but i have my doubts it's the stalk as it seems to move and 'click' just like normal, also sometimes when i park (without having indicated) i lock the car and this also happens, the whole offside indicators just stay on - along with the right hand indicator light on the dash! With this in mind i guess it could be the relay??? if so, where do i find this relay? under the dash or in the engine bay? and how much would it cost for a new one? Also am i missing something? Could it be something other than the stalk or relay? I'm at a loss.. Any help would be greatly apreciated, thankyou, Musicman.

Phase 1 Galaxy And Nokia Ck-7w Car Kit
musicman replied to musicman's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Thanks for the reply but as i said in my post, i have already searched for mute lead in the forums and haven't found the post i read a couple of months ago so was hoping that someone here could tell me where to get the lead or view that post -
Not sure exactly where to post this so if it's in the wrong place i apologise. I have tried Carphone Warehouse's recommended leads, the EVH001 and the EMK013 (elan leads) but neither of these fit. Carphone Warehouse say that these are the only two leads that they supply for the Ford Galaxy, I assume they are intended for the phase 2 though. I remember reading that Elan leads are no good for the Phase 1 but after quite some time searching the Forums and Google for that matter, i can't find that information again. I have a '98' 's' reg ford galaxy 2.3 ghia, i want to find an audio mute lead that will fit the Nokia CK-7W and my 2007R RDS radio, have any of you come across this problem? Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for your answers guys It was actually the bloke on the front desk at Fords that went off and asked one of their mechanics to look at it, he came back and suggested silicone, so i thought 'great' i guess that it will stick one side of the rubber to the glass and the other to the car itself. Now i'm not so sure about doing it myself as i seem to have been misinformed by Fords. Any ideas where i should take it to get it done properly then? and roughly what would i expect to pay?

i think mine is a ghia and not a ghia x, i am not sure but if that is the case and i am being told by my insurance company that it is a ghia x does that mean my premium is a little higher than it should be possibly?
-
thankyou, well that proves that they do put that on the logbook, maybe i will have to talk to ford tommorow as i can give them the reg and they can tell me cheers

The rubber at the bottom right hand corner of my rear screen keeps coming out and this makes the window bounce and bang every time i close the tailgate, i have been told the best option is to get some silicone to stick the rubber back and therefore hold the window in place. I have never used silicone before so does anyone know what or where i should by it? and have any tips on using or applying it please? thanks,

my paint code is LF i have found this to be cuirass mistral blue, how come there is an 'L' for cuirass and a 'F' for blue? what is cuirass? i'm sure this isnt the interior colour, i think that is denoted on a different box on the VIN, after searching i am no wiser.. anyone have one and can enlighten me please? musicman.

the door mirror was taped on when i got the car, is it possible to buy the part that the door mirror housing sits in on its own or do i have to but an entire new door mirror, mine is colour coded by the way. i think there is a part missing, the mirror and mirror cover are fine but the part that the two bolts go through that attatches it to the door has been ripped apart basically cheers..

hi, my log book says i have a 2.3 ghia, when i entered the registration into a website for an insurance quote it said it was a ghia x, what's the easiest way to find out which one i have? i remember when i bought my mondeo i found a website where i could enter the reg and it came back with quite a lot of detail about the car but i can't find this site now. i am guessing it has either been left off of the log book by mistake or maybe they don't differentiate between a ghia and a ghia x on there, anyone know a website where i can find out more? thanks..

Global Opening/closing
musicman replied to musicman's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
thanks, common sense really i suppose, i will go and have a look now, thanks again for you responses -
I've only had my galaxy a few days and i'm still waiting for the handbook to arrive, sometimes when i lock or unlock the car the windows start opening and closing, after searching the forums i know this is called global opening/closing...but how exactly is it supposed to work? Is there a way to switch this facility off? obviously the windows shouldn't open every time i unlock the car so is there a certain way to turn the key or something? i'm a it confused and one morning this week i found that the windows had opened by themselves during the night apparently.. any help would be greatly apreciated thanks in advance
