Can both roof bars on a Galaxy 09 be put on car as a complete assembly with the cycle carriers in one go? I have 3 cycle carriers bolted onto 2 roof bars which I keep bolted together as an assembly. (See attached sketch). I used to have a 2003 galaxy which had roof rails which meant that my wife and I could lift the entire assembly (as sketch ) onto the car and simply close the Jaws clamped around the roof rails. This meant that I could put the cycle carrier assembly on the car in a matter of seconds without having to reassemble the carriers to the roof bars. All bolts could also be left torqued up etc. I now have a 2009 galaxy which has a T slot in the roof and no roof external rails. If I replace the existing roof bars (which have jaws) for new bars which fit in the T slot , is it possible to slide the entire assembly on to the car again? Is there sufficient space in the slot to slide the assembly out? It looks like I might have to remove the cycle carriers to separate each roof bar and remove them one at a time! Or Can you get roof bars which perhaps expand into the T slot? Also, which roof bars would you recommend? Thank you for your advise.
