  1. So I finally fixed my turbo limp home issue, but not in the way I expected! I was completely thrown off the scent by the diagnostic errors so thought this might be useful to someone. The car was showing overboost and N75 open/short to ground intermittent errors. First thing I did was vacuum test the lines and check the N75 terminals - all good. So I thought, it's probably a failed N75 and a clogged turbo. New N75 valve fitted and the intermittent fault went away, just the overboost was left. So before totally stripping the turbo I tried some oven cleaner to see if I could avoid the teardown. This significantly improved things, no overboost fault, but.... The N75 fault was back! So I resigned myself to stripping the dash as I thought it must be a wiring issue from the N75 to the ECU. A clogged turbo couldn't cause an N75 open/short fault right? Wrong! A long run later (8hrs) purely by luck has totally cured the turbo issues. 1 month later and still no problems. So take note, and don't believe everything the diagnostic companies tell you about fault codes and their causes. Hope this helps someone!
  2. Hi guys, Just bought a Galaxy and one of the many jobs was to get the locking wheel nuts off as the previous owner had lost the key. I've done a few of these in my time, so I thought the job should be fairly easy, but those bolts on the galaxy mk2 did not fit any of my universal removers... these are the usual ones sold online and by places like Halfords so beware. Anyhoo - the bolts are now off, I found a remover to do the jub and took one off with a standard socket (for awhile I thought I'd have to spark up the mig and weld a bolt). The remover that works is the helix sort and it works very well. These are a little harder to find but loads of places sell them. I've written a guide on the 3 methods I've used for removing locking bolts before, you can find it in the link below - but basically go find a helix type remover (see guide) and you'll have no issues. Guide for removing locking wheel bolts: http://www.jamesandtracy.co.uk/howto/locking_wheel_nut_removal.htm Right, onwards and downwards to replacing the rack... CF (BTW it's a cracking car - so glad I bought it!)
