Heater Booster Above 10c?
AJ55YOO replied to g4hlf's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi fellow funbus fettlers Is it possible to disable the aux heater as its costing me a fortune in extra diesel? I'm not so keen on cutting any wires but unplugging things seems ok!! -
Cheers Willie, inspired name too, wife's called Shelia!

Hello fellow funbus fettlers A while ago whilst loading a rather large box into the Gal, I accidentally broke the rear O/S Door ajar switch off. I tried to put it back together again but it was apparently missing a spring (which I assume jettisoned off somewhere when it fell apart). I tried using one from a parker pen but it didn't work. Now the nights get dark earlier I'm really missing the courtesy lights coming on and its really annoying me due to the auto-lock feature that kicks in as the car doesn't think the door's been opened, so it locks itself and sets the alarm off if I've only used this door (like when you load kids in first)! Really the question is has anyone managed to repair one before, as I assume this must be a reasonably common accident (as they are in a daft location). Or has anyone got a spare that they can sell me? Anthony PS what's the price from Frauds

It happens to my Gal as well, usually when I've got my hands full! Very annoying sometimes.

Hamster Aparently the little man is on the mend, which is good news. He's in safe hands here in Leeds..

My Mk2 diesel Auto manages 40 to 43 mpg, but I'm told I drive like an undertaker! I do find I really don't need to rev it much past 2500rpm to get the best from it anyway which probably helps...

Cut Your Fuel Bill With Ethos Er, What The Heck?
AJ55YOO replied to sanjsanj's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
I use Red-Ex and I'm currently managing 575 miles to about 60 litres of fuel from my diesel auto. Thats for commuting and and business. That averages out better than the book figure, so it would be an arguement for Red-Ex. -
Anythime, if it involves finding something I'm your man! Fixing anything is usually beyond me though!!!!

AJ55YOO replied to AJ55YOO's topic in Dealer Service and Reliability (Galaxy)
Been an original boy racer, if it doesn't involve sticking spot-lights or a spoiler on on it I'm lost! Sadly the Gal requires 'plugging in' to find out what's wrong and my friend the local mechanic doesn't have that facility.... Need some one local with VAG-COM...... -
I'm hopefully going to take it down this weekend for fitting to National, they charge

I have laid my hands on a 215/55/16 Dunlop SP Sport 01 97W Extra Load (730kg) tyre to possibly replace my Firestone (nearing wear indicators) front tyre (its an odd one, the rest are Dunlop SP Sport RF). I'm told it will be fine on the Gal as 'Re-inforced' is basically the same thing as 'Extra Load'. I've read previous threads on here but would appreciate confirmation either way from the 'Experts' on here........
