Wow, this is pretty interesting. You may have already found a solution, but I thought I'd chime in, anyway. What you have there, sir, is a Volkswagen part number. It is a housing for a coolant temp sensor off a 5-cylinder EuroVan here in the States. I suggest you check with your local Volkswagen dealer with that part number. We didn't use that engine for very long in this country, and I came across your post while frantically trying to find a source for the part over here...we only had it for three years and it's now quite obsolete. =\
