  1. Right guys got another one from fleabay - its not Fraud one but Im told by seller Fraud/VW/Seat all the same. Its on 433 Mhz. Two things come into play now, 1 is that the lock and unlock button are the other way round and secondly the blade off my key does not fit onto this one. Also tried the same process as above and nothing. I feel like giving up - again.
  2. Thanks guys I can confirm I am now using CR 2016 batteries. The handbook says hold down lock button on fob and press unlock 3 times. I do this and nothing happens. On another thread I saw it the other way round IE Hold down unlock button and press lock 3 times. I do this and my fob then flashes 4 times. I can't seem to get any further though, anyone any ideas. Do I need a spacer between the batteries or will bit of foil do.Thanks again.
  3. Hi all I have a problem with my Galaxy remote key. Its a 52 plate. The last service was done a year ago by Frauds and they replaced the batteries on the fob. Since then it has never worked and they wont accept any knowledge saying they just replaced the batteries.I have put up with it since but now selling the car and the buyer wants this fixed. I found on this forum that the batteries should be CR 2016 ....This differs from the ones I took out which were CR 2025 - put in by them. There isnt any little metal shim between the batteries. The led flashes when you press lock and unlock - but doesnt seem as bright as I remember it. Anyway, I have unlocked the car with all windows closed etc. With key in drivers lock I have turned to right and back 3 times, the door light illuminates to indicate learning mode. Take key out I press and hold unlock button and press lock button 3 times then let go of both. The led on the fob flashes about 4 times and the led on the door just stays illuminated then goes off after about 10 more seconds. Is this the right process? The fob remote still does not open or lock the car. Any help appreciated. I know this subject has been on here a few times put Im pulling my hair out( whats left of it).
  4. Warren Did you get the gala lead working and does the location seem ok now?
  5. Yes, but from what I read, you do need some sort of ir transmitter (pda, laptop, mobile phone etc) and a downloadable program to work with the hacks for the Sony DAV range. I may have missed the obvious of course  I have 3 sony dvds in the house inc s550 and s800 . I used a palm v (fleabay
  6. I have done this with mine. Firstly you need to take the seat out - unbolt at bottom and undo air bag and heating loom. I put seat on its side and opened a wire coat hanger to its full length. I taped the end of the wire to it and was ready to go. You obviously cut a tiny hole in top of seat to insert wire - this will be covered by a rubber gaiter - bt if hole is small you wont notice it anyway. Push down the coat hanger feeding it through with your hands - its quite tricky as you actually have to make a groove through the foam inserts(seats are not made with space for wire unless factory ordered) Take it all the way through and out at bottom. A bit of hand manipulation and you wouldnt know its there. There is one important point to remember Go down the opposite side to the air bag !!! Put seats back in place and off you go. I found I had to have the air bag warning light re set but this will only apparently happen if the ignition is turned on when seat is out.
  7. Hi i was thinking about this CAN I HAVE THIS :D :D :o :o  :o Do you want the legitimate answer to that one ? You have noticed that these things are from Hong Kong where driving and traffic laws dont really exist don't you? Basically if it "could" be seen by the driver whilst the car is in motion - then its a no no. There are exemptions, ie rear camera monitors , but these are supposed to be monitors and not capable of being used as a tv. If you only use it when car isnt moving then great - fill yer boots mate.
  8. yes its the travelpilot - the words are all given a hex number for each one. Numbers are put together in a string to make sentences. you can literally make it say what ever you want as long as you have recorded it to disc. The unit uplaods the sound files from the disc each time you change "select language".
  9. Hi all I got a bit fed up with the lady voice on my MFD unit so I changed it ! Don't know if anyone else has tried this but its not that hard. I found the software on the internet - the only time consuming thing is editing all the .wav files. But eventually I have had a success, just swop over the files and burn a new disc and watch it update when it goes in. Cool. Im workig on changing the start up logo now to my own pictures. I have it all in place ready just experimenting with the right place to put it. I will keep you posted if you are interested, and post a pic when its going.
  10. BigRupe Where are you going to put one in the front? Obviously it cant be in a position where it can be seen by the driver as this would be illegal ! ........ lol
  11. If you really want to get the low down on cameras try looking at the local police force web page. Some now show you where locations are. Merseyside Police for example not only lists locations of all current fixed cameras but also shows details of were Traffic boys will be doing enforcement and where mobile cameras will be positioned and when. The logic behind this is to promote safer driving and also say "How much warning do you want and you still speed? " M25 speed cameras on gantrys are only on when speed restrictions are in place. Basically they stretch for several junctions either side of Heathrow airport. If travelling towards gantry you can see camera housing sticking up over the top. Not all of them have them by the way. If its road works though then be careful they are all live, as the revenue they bring in is huge!
  12. Hi all I use a snooper s6 neo - this has built in modem and allows updates as often as I want without plugging into a computer. Yes it has the laser add on. The system runs on GPS - therefore is not illegal and wont be consficated by the likes of me - only ones that detect emissions (radar, laser) have been deemed illegal by the courts and are subject to seizure. Some areas are sticking rigidly to ACPO guidelines and therefore cameras are set at absolute minimum - ie 34 in a 30mph limit. Its these ones that having a system like this helps - we wont admit to speeding but we do drift slightly above the limit dont we ? Most police cars have a time/distance computer on them - this calculates the average speed of the target vehicle. Turning on and off at set points. These devices are no good for one of those. Ever noticed white painted squares or circles on the motorway and wondered what they were for as you drove over one - local traffic chaps probably just got your average speed !! Drive safely.
  13. Hi I fitted a MFD unit as a retro fit and it works fine. Took a bit of setting up though as it runs on a gps plug in aeriel - slot in back of unit for this. Some things to note though. 1. You need a totally new bezel for unit to sit in, current one is too small a gap. Its available from Frauds parts about
  14. Hi Steve Im in Cheam in Surrey
  15. I fitted a 10 disc DVD changer in the rear offside panel behind the last row of seats. It fits nicely under the CD changer and doesnt interfere with the jack and tools. Its fully remote so load up with 10 films and thats enough for any journey. A little work and sooooo much peace and quiet in the back
