  1. I've managed to check glow plug and it's working fine, how can I determine resistance check on the ECU controller, Note I have the whe heater off the car. I have tried doing a resistance continuity test across the pins on the ECU controller on the female plug that connect with the multiplug/wires that are attached to the glow plug) and The reading I got was 30 plus kohms, I'm not a dab hand at technical stuff, what does this value mean? Also i checked the values across the pins on the connector plug on the loom that provides the feed to the ECU,( the plug that connects to the loom from the vehicle) The values were 0.00
  2. How do I remove the glowplug wires from the mutli plug connector that they are connected to. Also how to i check for an open circuit on glow plug? Im not sure whether my multimeters playing up but when i set it on Ohms for resistance it displays O.L and I have tried checking the values across the plug pins for the glowplug and I consistently get 0.000 ? I have checked across the corresponding Male plug on the ECU unit and I got Values 30.7 kohms What does this signify?

  4. Ive just checked that VW part number on net and its throwing up the Beru Ghoo1 type plug with 8mm nut, thats not the one that ive got apparently my one has wires attached all as one piece, ford part number is 5 TTH 1BD650 AA, ANy ideas of VW cross ref part no?
  5. Chris your a star You answered my query in a recent post that ive just posted but could you give me pointers, below is my original post I have a 2003 Ford Galaxy Ghia, Ive been trying to get my auxhillary heater started, the fault codes indicate the flame out and lock out, when i do manage to clear codes it sometimes starts and then fails or just gives out plumes of unburmt diesel signifying glow plug issues. However when I got my mechanic to strip it down, the unit looked nothing like the Eberspacher D5WZ which has the Beru GH002 glow plug. It was cylindrical with the respective Air flow in and exhaust out ports. He stripped it down and couldnt find the corresponding Beru GH002 type glow plug and re assembled back on the car before I had a chance to visit garage and take down part or model no of heater. Can you or anyone advise what type I have, I tried calling the Ford dealers and they stated that apparently I have the glow plug with wires attached that retails at £99.00,. The Ford part number they quoted was 5 TTH 1BD650 AA is there a VW cross reference ? I know from past experience VW/TPS have been 60% cheaper than Ford for spare parts, or alternatively another supplier? Also if the Aux water pump in bulkhead is faulty does it throw up a fault code on VAG COM, its just that no other fault code except for Flame out came up. Thanks In advance
