  1. Really strange, my wife used the car today, and she fiddled with the stereo and now it's all working fine?? Cheers for all your help.
  2. Yes the original stereo was affected in the same way, doesn't look like anything else has been wired into it?
  3. Hi, I tried it with the keys out, got the same results. That's what my old galaxy did stayed on until the keys were removed, but this one isn't working?

  5. I did the check today and these are the readings I got : Red and brown wire: 12.87v ignition off 12.36v ignition on Red wire: 12.61 ignition off 12.35 ignition on red Any ideas what this means?

  7. Ok I will give it a go in the morning and see but I'm not 100% sure how to use a multi meter do I touch the red and brown wire to see if power is going through it?
  8. Yeah I think so as the stereo will only come on when you push the power button but nothing happens with the key, if that makes sence?
  9. I've checked and replaced fuses 30 and 31, (both fine but changed them just incase but still nothing?
  10. Yes I have both red and the red and brown on the car connector, they go to the yellow (battery) and red (acc) but it still doesn't work with the key, what amp fuses are meant to be used for 30 and 31? Thanks for all your help so far.

I've tried the red and yellow wires both ways and with the ignition on and off with keys in and out but it still only turns on via the stereo itself, can I connect a wire from somewhere else that is an ignition live and wire that to the head unit? I've just bought a multi meter reader so how will I find out what wires are ignition live, I've checked the cigarette socket and that always live too??
  14. Yes it's an aftermarket stereo, with a harness from halfords, worked fine in my previous galaxy but not in this one?

I have put my CD player from my galaxy that was written off and pit it into my galaxy I have just purchased, the problem is that the stereo won't turn on or off with the ignition, only via the on off switch on the stereo it's self, I've tried changing the red and yellow over but still nothing, is there someway to get it working with the ignition? Cheers

  19. Hi thanks for the reply its a 2001 y reg and it's a 2.3 petrol. Yeah I do hear a loud click but there's nothing else not even trying to start ?? Driving me mad. Cheers

Hi I new to the forum and know this is an old thread but I'm having this very issue I have power to everything but the car won't turn over I can also hear the loud click from under the bonnet when turning the key, i have also noticed there is no engine light on the dash? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
