  1. Thanks for the reply. I am sure many of us have shared that frustrated feeling of "what have I done" when the car is in pieces on the drive and not even working as well as before you started. And I had to let it out a bit... I have read the FAQ many times but there really is chaff all room on the front doors to see/work on this stuff. I still cannot see how you can twist the connector to tighten it if the male/female parts of the connector are joined  I am wondering about taking off the door panel so I can get better access?
  2. Hi all, I have a relatively late model (58 plate) Alhambra with 4x electric windows and elec mirrors. Car was suffering from intermittent window opening so after some research I found this (and other) postings really useful http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/10371-galaxy-door-boot-wiring-inspection-repair/ So on the drivers side front door I opened up and found a complete;y broken red/yellow cable and partially broke brown cable both of these were quite hefty 2.5mm jobs Without removing the loom I have spliced in some soldered repairs but have the following issues 1) On trying to connect the loom up hardly anything works :-( no mirrors or windows etc. Are there often lots of internal breakages of the thinner cables too and is there a good diagram of the wiring and colours so I can try and fault trace? 2) When reconnecting the loom cannot understand how the male/female parts of the plug go together when there also has to be twisting of the outer castellated lock ring...do you tighten up the lock ring and then 'push' the plug home? I don't want to make it any worse and I had to give up for the night (darkness). Thanks for any help Tim
