  1. Probably the brake switch. If you have cruise control and try using it you may find that an engine management warning light comes on. If so it's deffinately the brake light switch. They were a dodgy design across lots of VAG cars and a new design switch is now available. I had exactly the same problem in my galaxy and my old Audi.
  2. I Had the same problem on my old Audi A4, probably the same VW part in the steering wheel. It either repaired itself after about a year or the warning light bulb blew!
  3. Like many people on here I suffer from the classic wet drivers foot well. It reappeared a few weeks ago so I decided to clean out the scuttle drains (again). Whilst I had the tray out I thought I would have a check on the pollen filter and found that the frame that holds it in was missing! I presume that in a service before I owned the Gal some lazy b&^$%
  4. Thank you so much guys. When my Gal did this coming home from a camping trip last weekend, full of kit and family, I thought it was hello scrap yard for the old HMS Gamble (her name). I did as instructed and 1 1/2 cans of WD40 and 5 hours of swearing later she was on the road again. Another Gal saved from the scrappy by this thread I believe. Thanks again!
  5. I think it would but I'm not sure that it would give you enough coverage, the Galaxy is a wide car and 4 is stretching it!
  6. I installed these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silver-Parking-Reversing-Sensor-Buzzer/dp/B001I1AG18/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1352220781&sr=8-4 On my MK1 Gal. Work nicely even with a tow bar in the middle and the silver matches well. Easy to install with a bit of electronic know how and a good drill. Once you have found the power to the reverse lights it is just a case of plugging all the bits together. Any questions feel free.......
