I have a 2001 2.3 V6 auto. The engine mamagement light has been on for a while now, even after service and 3 auto electricians. It will not go into top and drives in 3rd gear. Still drives well but obviously drinks petrol. It has been cleared by gearbox specialist and for short time worked, discounting a gearbox problem. However the light returns and so does the problem. The fuses have been checked, new battery and new alternator fitted. Don't want to throw good money into a car work abt £1K. Any ideas please otherwise it is the scrappy. Thanks
