  1. Problem for me now finally sorted, it was a leak on the pipe joining to the inlet manifold. :)
  2. Maybe should get a few made up and sold on eBay. Also they have made it a stronger spring as the previous one is the same thickness as a staple!!!!
  3. Took the car to an engineering company, who made a spring. £30.00 later and the car has a working handbrake!
  4. Took it to main dealer today and they confirmed that the spring has broke. This spring would cost approx. 15-20p but in typical modern day car I have to buy the whole handbrake unit at a grand total of £309.00 including fitting. :28:
  5. The handbrake on my Galaxy is not engaging and will just go up and down. I took the centre console out and noticed that the small spring mechanism on the ratchet has snapped so will not push the locking mechanism against the teeth. Does anybody know if this is a quick fix and is there a part available or do I have to buy a new handbrake? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
  6. I changed my key for the spare because I heard there could be problems with the key and immobiliser. This seems to have sorted the problem for me but will obviously have to get the other key reprogrammed at some point. :29:
  7. Hi, Have the same problem but mine has been very intermittent but lately has got worse and takes some time to engage. However, there seems to be no pattern and just turns over even when it is hot. Immobiliser has been suggested as a problem but as usual Ford are not very helpful and obviously when they have the car, it of course starts first time!!!!!! I don't have friends with a Galaxy but could someone tell me if when you turn the ignition on, does the fuel pump make a noise? I thought it did but cannot hear anything when I turn the ignition to the on position. Thanks for any help.
