  1. Hi there. I had the same problem and realised the locking ring was slightly damaged. It seemed to hold the female section in the door pillar tight enough, but in reality there was a little bit of movement that meant it kept falling to back in through the pillar when I tried to fit the male section back in. I ordered a replacement locking ring from Ford's, cost around £5.00, and fitted it around the female section in the door pillar. Was dreading fitting the male section, as was having all sorts of problems with it before, but went in first time like a dream! Hope you get it sorted, or have already.
  2. Many thanks for taking the time to reply, Seatkid. Your reply makes a lot of sense to me as it was very, very hot where we were. Also, the car was parked up in the heat for several days before the fault occurred. Will check it as soon as I get the car back. Many thanks again.
  3. Hi everyone. Can anyone shed some light on the following problem please? I have a Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI diesel automatic 2005 Mk II. Whilst driving, the ABS and sealt belt lights come on, and the air conditioning fails. The car loses power and shudders. When turned off, it won't start for 30 mins or so, and then will eventually start again, (it will start with a jump start though). This happened whilst on holiday in South of France, and the local Ford Dealer carried out diagnostic computerised tests and changed the battery. Hasn't made any difference though and cost me 250.00 euros! My european breakdown service is now in the process of getting the car transported back to England. I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me. Many thanks in advance.
