Just a few lines to relate my experience in case it is useful to someone; Bought a 6006e multi CD unit to fit my 97 Mk1, found that the wires were different and also the unit is 1.5 DIN .... thought I would then mod the wiring and fascia but couldn't find relevnt plugs for new player and breaker's seemed reluctamt to sell just the plugs, so; I found that Maplin's (www.maplin.co.uk) have an offer of a CD player which also plays MP3, has RDS radio etc, reduced to

Hmmm took the old 2006r unit out today - connections are different and the kit Halfords came up with won't do the conversion. Looks like some research needed - does anyone have a wiring diagram for either the 2006r or the 6006 units and their connections required. Thanks

I have an 96 2.3 glx for which I have just purchased a 6006 unit to replace the standard 2006r. Does anyone know (a) if the wiring connections are the same and (:blink: are there any blanking plates to cover the gap created by the 1.5 din Many thanks.
