  1. i have a whining sound from the front near side. it is speed dependant, and is loud at 70mph whining is irrespective of gear engagement, today i changed the hub and bearing assembly but this made no difference. next job is the driveshaft replacement, but the drive is silky smooth and i have no clunks or vibrations?? the sound is similar to a 4x4 in low range where the whining noise changes with acceleration and deceleration grateful for any ideas others may have
  2. mines the same car and has the same whine noise. its your power steering electric motor by your right foot in the engine compartment. noise is more noticeable in the cold weather, and dissapears in warm weather. its a pain but has been like that for 2 years without detriment. believe its very common but not a fault, just a noisy motor!
