  1. Thanks chaps. I'm surprised I didn't see the the 2 bolts holding this bearing, when I removed the 6 splined driveshaft bolts, it looks like its just behind them. Those drive shaft prices on the link seem very cheap?! Thanks for info, have a happy new year!
  2. Ah right, I see.
  3. Hi Spark. Yes had alignment done after bits thanks. I'm starting to think its a bearing problem, thats what the noise sounds like. (Sorry i didn't realise you had replied)
  4. I'm starting to think now that the vibration is not the wishbone, and something to do with the o/s driveshaft assembly. What is the bit called that actually goes into the gearbox, and how do you get it out? Does this part have a bearing? As the vibration does feel like a bearing worn, but wheel bearing doesn't have any play. (i have a 2 hour drive later, and i don't know if it will make it it, as getting progressively worse!) Thanks all, and happy Christmas.
  5. Hello. Did you find the problem?, as this is what I believe is exactly happening to mine. Vibration getting a lot worse now, especially on power going up a hill and around a corner. Totally disappears though when you take your foot off the power...Thanks in advance.

  8. Hello all. Is there a way to test the wishbone? I'm getting an odd steering fault. Car seems to wonder a bit when going over cambers/manholes in the road. Feels like your fighting the steering a bit.2 new tie rod ends, and 1 newish inner tie rod, they seem ok with no play. Bottom ball joints don't seem to have any play, I'm wondering if it can be wishbone bushes? There is also a slight wobble starting to occur when putting your foot down going up a hill. Feels like its coming from the front left. Could be connected to wondering steering fault?? Thanks for any info
  9. Hi. I replaced whole shaft. No, you don't need to take caliper off to get shaft out. (bottom ball joint, and drive shaft bolts).
  10. Many thanks again Brian, and gregers. Its gonna be a while before I get to tackle it, but I will let you know how it went etc. Cheers.
  11. Hi Brian. Many thanks indeed for all that info. I can almost guarantee that I have broken the wire, as I turned the wheel right around and heard a chonk. Is it easy to get to for me to inspect/change? As always, many thanks.
  12. Erm...What is a clock spring? Is it possible I've damaged it when replacing steering rack? (as airbag light has come on) thanks
  13. Ok thanks danum. Got it done now. Nearly had a mishap with rounding off a bolt, but got away with it. Driveshaft next...whoopee! Looks pretty straightforward though. Cheers, Ben.
  14. Yes I think water pump on mine also. ok thanks bri.
  15. Morning all. My rack is leaking so bad all fluid has gone, or will just run out. I'm still using it, as the steering is just a lot heavier. Can't get it fixed til Sunday. My question is, will using it knacker the power steering pump? Thanks in advance.
