  1. Hi everyone, Can anyone help me with some part numbers? and advice I want to change the rear brake pads on a Galaxy 2001 Mk2 2.3 zetec Does anyone know what the part numbers are for the pads, or better still which ones on fleebay I should buy? I see in other posts that it is recomended that a wind back tool is used which one is best suited from these (if any) sealey tool bergen or should I be looking for something different? Thanks in advance
  2. The management light came on P0133 - oxygen sensor, sensor 1 bank 1 and its failed its mot on emissions :D and yes, its been fed morissons south east petrol during the time period. can these sensors be cleaned?
  3. Hi Forum, Hope someone may be able to offer some advice. I have a 2.3 Zetec Gal 51 plate. 50k and regular service On damp mornings the old girl appears to miss a little bit, however that soon clears but in normal day to day running the brat bus runs as if its holdng back, slightly sluggish and sometimes a bit jerky. You can put your foot down and it feels like she doesn't want to respond. I've got gendan engine management software to check for any fault codes - none. I can record the engine doing various bits and pieces like air sensor voltage/ MAF and stuff like that, I'm not sure what to check for so I'm looking for advice 3 fold 1. Any ideas as to the reluctant brat bus 2. What data would be best data to look at on the management software? (can be downloaded to csv/ excel format) 3. I wondered if any of the members of the forum might be able to cast a knowing eye over the results to say "a-hah, theres ya problem  " Thanks to you all in advance
  4. It was just the Ht lead in the end thanks for the info, I'll have to try the 10 minute reset :D
  5. Hi folks, My galaxy has developed a misfire, I'm a bit strapped for cash and reluctant to book it in to the local main dealer at the mo. Sympyoms started misfiring recently on the colder damper mornings, only the past few days. Today I checked the leads to make sure they were still plugged in, took them off and looked in the coil where they plug in, one was coroded. I squirted a bit of wd40 in hoping this would help and since then its run like a pig, the engine management light has come on, feels like firing only on 3, would I be right in assuming that the coil may be at fault? removing the guilty lead doesn't affect performace that much can the coil be brought from a local motor factors? Halfords? would the yellow management light go out or is it a main dealer reset ? 2001 2.3 zetec dohc. kind regards Mike
  6. I had the same problem, flooded n/s passenger footwell, turned out to be the rear wash hose connection located in the trim panel in the n/s front passenger threshold, its come apart twice now, takes ages to bail out
  7. Excerpt from a letter written to my main dealer, relates to a 2.3 Zetec 51 plate. 11th November 2005 (Mileage 40722) My vehicle was booked into your dealership, for the above mentioned service, and to look at 2 additional faults, bad squeak from under the bonnet and a steering problem. During the day I was informed that the windscreen wipers, an indicator light, front brake pads all required replacing and that the squeak had been traced to a leaking union on the power steering pump that had contaminated the auxillary drive belt and this too would require replacing. I agreed to proceed with the work providing that it was completed on that day. I travelled down to the dealers at 16:30 to collect my car to find that it wasn
  8. Ooooo another hazard potential by a main dealer service. My family 2.3 Zetec Galaxy went into the local dealer for its final warranty service (40k), they fitted new front brakes, I had to take it back 3 days later when the car started to squeel really badly had had trouble stopping, the brakes went spongey.............. damn mechanic failed to notice the rear pads had worn to bone. neadless to say its been back 4 times since then, and they still haven't serviced it to my satisfaction. I wanted the car serviced before handing it to my wife so that she could ferry my priceless children around and I could buy another plaything. :D Was going to buy another ford............. but they're salesmanship and stock was on par with the service department. Be safe, always check after main dealer service, in the days of Dick Turpin they called it highway robbery!
