Hi could anyone tell me if the fuses in the VW Sharan are in the same place as i'm having the same problem its a 97 (2L petrol if that makes a difference) thanks guys.

its the 2 liter petrol engine.

Hi there, I have a 97 VW Sharan, we only bought it a few weeks ago as a stop gap until we can afford a newer model, was told at time of purchase that it occasionally cuts out while idling the seller gave us a part (Throttle body) and said this was the fault, as i know very little about cars i took them at their word and between me and my father-in-law managed to change the part. Surprise surprise this had little or no effect, since then reading up a little we believed it may have been the Idle Air Control Valve, however after taking the car out for a run to the shops we noticed it only appears to cut out when the clutch is engaged when slowing to a stop or setting off from stationary. Has anyone got any ideas and advice Many Thanks Ants

I have a 97 VW Sharan, i'm having similar problems but having trouble locating the Idle Control Valve could anyone give me a pointer as what and where to look for ( i don't know much about under the bonnet thank you

I have the same problem with an early model VW Sharan i have also been told to check Relay#30.
