  1. Have a 2006 galaxy mkIII, and would like to feed a fuse tap to the dash camera so that it only is turned on with the ignition. I found what I thought was a suitable fuse but it turns out it was the ABS fuse and has created faults on the ECU. The booklet doesnt go into much detail on the fuseboard under the passengers footwell, so does anybody know which fuse would be more suitable for this purpose? Thanks in advance W.
  2. Hi Bobby, I tried as you suggested, but the top half of the door trim just didn't want to budge. I didn't want to force it as afraid I could do damage to the electric window or anything else? From where the door opener is and upwards to how the trim wraps back into the door window, it just didn't want to move freely. I was mainly forcing the trim upwards I've attached an image of said door on the off chance its different across the MK3 range.. Thanks W.
  3. Hi All, I have a 56 plate Mk3 galaxy which has a loose driver's side wing mirror (from the previous owner) probably from an impact/hit. Once driving at speed, the unit shakes. Now its either loose at the bolt(s) connecting it to the door or more likely the unit itself is loose internally. I came upon this link. Without taking off the door panel I can see one bolt, but before attempting to do so can anybody tell me if there is more than one bolt securing the wing mirror? Thanks in advance W.
  4. FYI: Explained the symptoms to the mechanic at a recent service. He took a look and decided to replace ALL these bulbs along the tailgate. Anytime I've gone to check since, they are all on so perhaps its a bulb issue after all... Cheers W.
  5. Hi all, I have a 56 plate Mk3 galaxy. Have noticed with the lights on the tailgate light cluster (ie 3 bulbs across the top) dont all come on. Its intermittent and its not the bulb as a small tap on the outside of the light fitting gets the light/bulb going. I've taken both the driver & passenger cluster out and see the bulb holder/connector screws on to a metal plate that obviously gets current/voltage when the car has the lights turned on. To date I have taken out each bulb connector and given the metal contacts a cleaning and pushed them closer together so it becomes harder to turn the connector back onto the plate (hoping to get a firmer connection). This hasnt rectified the problem to date. This symptom also exists on the light/bulb on the quarter panel. Haven't attempted to solve this as my first attempt doesnt seem to have provided a fix. It seem a pretty obvious mechanism to power the bulbs but I cant see why one or two bulbs don't get power without a slight knock from me. Anybody have ideas of why its giving this behaviour and how to solve it? Thanks in advance W.
  6. Is the drain pipe from the evaporator secure? I had a leak in the footwell but is transpired the pipe was loose. Your shouldnt be able to pull it out with ease? In my case once I gave it a firm push back in, the connection was secure and the leak is now gone? You probably have checked this, but I thought I'd ask anyway... W.
  7. Update, Thanks for the feedback. Just to let others know, that loose drain pipe connection seems to have been the cause. Its been a couple of weeks now with the carpet/felt back in place and there's no feel of any dampness. Touch wood. Now off to get the door trimming clips to complete the fastening of the carpet... W.
  8. Update: It seems this pipe/tube is connected to the evaporator and drains the water generated by the AC to the underside of the car. In my case this pipe had become loose, I have reconnected it and the fit is now quite firm. So far so good wrt the leak but will keep an eye on it over the next couple of weeks. I've read from the internet the drain pipe can become blocked on pre-mkIII models. Does anybody know if that's still the case with the mkIII? Does anybody know where on the underbody this pipe should exist (the liquid)? I can see droplets coming down in the centre of the underbody right on the edge of a rectangle tube that runs the full length of the car, but it doesnt appear to be a deliberate place to exit? I'm wondering is it leaking somewhere else along the way? Any advice would be much appreciated? Thanks W.
  9. Follow up, Not solved yet but I think its more to do with the AC rather than rain getting into the car from outside. Found the footwell wet again, upon inspection found water coming from a plastic flexi-tube behind the lower trim of the central console (See console trim picture). This tube finishes up at a white clip back into the under floor (see white clip picture). Both the top and end of the tube were wet but as yet unsure if the white clip end is leaking as the water may well just be trickling down. Is this tube used to direct AC condensated water out through under the engine? I was able to get my hand behind the trim and pull the top out, it was quite loose. I believe this top is connected to the AC unit. Can anybody confirm? I've read the AC drain pipe can be blocked, is the white clip connected to this drain. How best to check for blockage? Finally how should I go about fixing this leak, does it need a new part from Ford? Thanks for any advice W.
  10. Recently got a 2nd hand 2006 zetec galaxy mkIII (with panaramic roof) last summer and since winter has set in, I have discovered it has a leak too  I've found loads of water leak forum threads on other sites but its not clear what model they refer too. Hard to say where its coming in but have removed the soundproofing from the bottom of the footwell and then completely dried it up. Since more recent rain the soundproofing behind the foot pedals are now wet again, so perhaps its coming down from the windscreen? Before I consider replacing the windscreen is there anything more I can do to pinpoint the likely cause of the leak? The local dealer has mentioned 90% of the time its caused by a leaking windscreen. Sorry I cant help the original poster but perhaps my reply might facilitate some helpful feedback Thanks in advance W.
