hi all. im after buying a 99 lx 1.9tdi with a blown manual gearbox and would love to know is it possible or practical to fit any other model gearbox? the car is fitted with the ahu engine. after a bit of research i found that all the manual mk1 petrol and diesels have the vtx75 ford box. the reason i want to know this is the breakers over here are charging an arm and a leg for the tdi box and i can get a low mileage 97 2.3 box for less than half the price.

hi all new member from ireland. just bought a 99 lxtdi to transport my brood around and am definately going to be asking question. taxied a couple of these in the early 2000s and fell in love with them. just had to wait till kid population merited the extra seating.
