I have a 1997 ford galaxy 2.0 petrol. For a while now occasionally we will be driving, stop for a moment, turn off engine then maybe 2 mins later try to start it and the car would not turn over. After 10 mins or so it would start up after trying it again and could run fine for 2 days or even 2 weeks before doing it again. Initially we were told it was the starter motor so replaced that( made no difference). So we bought a portable jump starter and resolved to use this when it happens 2 mins and we are off again. However now twice this week the car cut power completely whilst driving....once on the M1 motorway!!!! with my children in the car. The first time we rolled to a stop and of course out came my portable jump starter and off we went.....but on the motorway as we were rolling to a stop on the hard shoulder we geared down and clutch up and pressed accelerator....and it kicked started itself. I really really have no idea where to start...we took it to a garage few weeks back who thought it might be the battery loosing power....but with our trusted portable jump starter...when the car cut out we did a battery test and it showed as full!!!!!! Please help xx
