  1. Hi, Following a trip to Longleat, where the clutch took a bit of abuse in that I could smell it getting hot, the gear changes dont seem as smooth as before. I have just jacked the car up one side at a time and the wheels feel stiff to turn to me. On depressing the clutch they lock solid. Noy sure why. Have I stuffed the clutch and is there an inspection plug I can remove to check it? Car details, 2002 1.9 tdi, ANU engine, 6 speed box. Many thanks PT
  2. Thank you all for your help. Got the proper stuff from the Hendy E shop. Cracking service & next day delivery. PT
  3. Getting confused now by all the options. My handbook gives the spec as ESD-M2C186-A, which the Coma MT75 conforms to. None of my local shops can help and I'm not having much luck with Google. Do I go with a Castrol 75W/90 fully Synthetic or stick with ESD-M2C186-A Coma MT75. Getting desperate as I need to sort it by Friday. HELP Please!
  4. So something like Castrol Driveline Syntrax Universal?
  5. Having just replaced the drive shafts I decided to change the gearbox oil on my 2002 1.9TDi 6 speed box. I went to Halfords for ESD-M2C186-A but they said they didn't stock it!! Funny I can find MT75 online. Went to a local Interpart who gave me EP80. Since then I noticed the gear changes are not so smooth when its cold. It was always a bit notchy. Have I got the corerect oil, especially as I'm driving to Cornwall on Saturday. Thanks PT
  6. Thanks for that. Any idea which one is suit to the ANU coded engine. Its a bit of a pig to see, but it looks black. Cheers PT
  7. Hi Had the same problem a few years ago... Try the water Temperature sender unit, located--Back of engine block, right hand side. Buy an original more expensive- vw part replacement.. not patent as they may not be calibrated to match the E.C.U input corectly .. so you could still end up with rev probs ... Which i found out to my cost and waste of time... Happy days with correct unit.. hope it works for you A.T.Bst mate Hi Thanks for that. Any idea of size & what it looks like please? cheers
  8. Hi, Could someone help please? I have an 02 1.9TDi Galaxy that has started to develope a problem. I noticed that the temperature gauge on the dash was working intermitently. As the gauge drops the engine revs rise to just over 1100 rpm. When you are driving in low gears it launches you around the corners. When the temperature gauge rises the revs drop back to the normal 900 rpm. Also if you restart the car whilst it still warm it revs up as it starts & then drops back. Many thanks PT
