It also appears that Bartec make a universal rubber stem valve with a programmable sensor. Not found anyone in the uk yet that offers fitting and coding of these but its likely to be a cheaper option than new sensors and valves from the dealer? http://www.bartecautoid.com/tpms-pad.html

Having read several threads on here and doing a bit of a trawl round the net, it would appear that the aluminium stems are a known issue and in the US, ford has introduced a rubber stem valve for use on TPMS systems. http://www.teamji.com/fedex/images/TPMS%20Sensors%20on%20Ford%20Branded%20Vehicles,%20v2.0.pdf Wonder if this is being introduced in the UK? and if the valve has been re-designed?

If your still in need of one I have a unit that I bought for a 2007 car but never got round to fitting it. As I have just upgraded to a 2010 plate I'm looking to move this on and try and get some money back.

Ivor on old shape galaxy this is going to be mmore difficult than you and ketchup think! while the unit is in principle compatible the galaxy 6000 unit on the newer 2000 onwards models is flat on the front with square corners. where as a 6000e unit from a Fiesta etc is curved with rounded corners, hence not a neat and tidy fit when pushed into place. Added to that to fit one to an early galaxy, requires possibly bypassing of the separate amp if its a 2007 system, and loss of the cubby hole below the radio, and then as this is a double din slot there will be a small air gap. Personally I would avdise against! unless you happy with untidy fit and finish??? On later 2000 on galaxy only the sat nav radio by blaupunkt is a true double din, the 6000 sieres stero is just a fraction under double din size (the one with a sliver radio surround), good eh! All is not lost the black surround as used for the navigation unit is only about a

Simon, I am not knocking the V6, its is a nice drive, but I'm afraid I have to disagree. I find the TDI Galaxy's very rewarding to drive and have plenty of power. the new 130 is the best yest and leaves many a pertol car behind. All round the cheaper tax, more MPG an higher residuals of TDI models make them most peoples fisrt choice. jakey247

Feanor, without knowing how the previous owner connected it up, its possible that its a wiring fault? however similarly it could be a changer problem. As for selecting CD from the menu, thats normal I have to do that, but once in CD mode it should stay there until you swap it back to navigation or radio? try taking a look behind the panel on the RH side where the jack is to see what make the adaptor is? and what the connections look like??? Regards Jakey247

Once in the settings mode, select AUX function and then you can tab between; Audio only, video only and combined audio/video. - provided you have a signal coming in on the phono ports of the adaptor - hey presto it will appear, either with or without sound depending on the aux mode you have selected. I hope that answers all today's questions! Good luck to all and if anyone needs any more help please ask! Jakey247 - (Galaxy DVD king! :( )

Once you have the MFD aux imput adaptor (see other posts) you obviously need to plug it in at the rear, but once done you alter the settings as follows; 1) Push audio button and then select settings

On the question about removing the navigation (MFD) unit, you need the special keys. A set of 4 can be bought from a VW dealer for about a fiver, also I have seen them in Halfords. They slot into each corner as shown below and allow the unit to slide out easily. Regards Jakey247

Feanor, in answering you question the units are connected but not menat to work together as I have shown (basically cause its illegal to view whilst driving in the UK - well at least i think it is?) Anyway its very simple to do but you need an adaptor, I'll post some pictures later to show you what it looks like and how to do it. the adaptor ius a little expensive at around

Stagowner and CDN. Firstly I don't work at a Ford Garage! The reason i have access to the numbers is I get the monthly Ford Microcat CD's that the dealers have form friendly inside source  Over the tears I have restored and built many vehicles including an MG Midget, 1968 Triumph Spitfire Mk3, several RS2000's, and mexcicos and later XR3i's, RS turbos and Escort Cabriolets. I have also helped my mates build RS Cosworth powered transits etc. So it goes without saying I like to tinker. As such you need to research what you wnat to do, and as most UK ford dealers are crap, I use contacts inside Ford UK and Germany as well as sourcing German parts. I agree that

Stagowner the manual you want is ford Publication order code: CG3329. I can photocopy it for you if you send me a large self addressed stamped envelope. the difference between the two sytems is that we both have the full colour 5" screen type made by Blaupunkt, on which you can only use the CD slot for navigation CR-ROMs. On the system 2 it has a much smaller screen, and has a digital surround processor, also allows you to use single CD slot to play normal CD's. This unit is made by visteon, and is not as easy to configure with the rear set multimedia pack. The Ford (visteon made) rear headrest multimedia pack is available as a kit NOT CHEAP mind, and can be retro fitted. There is always a slim possibility that you may get one from a salvage car. According to inside sources less than10% of UK Galaxy sales have the rear seat pack, so of the 10,000 or so sold in the UK last year there are around 1000 with the system. By the law of averages so poor soul will have had a crash or total loss? having both the DVD/multimedia pack and navigation unit myself I find they are great toys! particularly when negotiated into the deal basically for FREE.

When SA intruder was saying the 130 has a 130 badge, this must be a VW Seat only thing, my Galaxy 130 has an all Red TDI badge same style as previous versions. Having had all three variants I have to say the 130 is the best. Regards Jason
