  1. I've just got round to replacing the nearside rear fog light bulb and find that there was never one in there because there's a blanking off plate which prevents the bulb going up into the fitting. Do I assume that only the offside light is required?

  3. My 2000 Galaxy Zetec did not have remote locking as standard so I fitted an aftermarket system from Ebay. Seems to work OK.
  4. Hi Jackie. I had the same problem with mine. The 10min delay is the "fall back" setting if a door is left open. I found that I wasn't shutting the tailgate hard enough so it thought a door was still open. Try each door in turn, it could be a faulty switch in one of them. Good luck. Jason

  6. Yes, I had ignition on and engine running while pressing the reset button. I'll disconnect or pull fuse (if I can find the right one!) to try and "re-boot" the cluster as suggested. Thanks
  7. Cheers Mirez. Soon as it stops raining I'll give it a go ;)
  8. Thanks Mirez. Yeah, pressing and holding.
  9. Mine is a W reg 1.9 TD (2000) without any of the extra "computer" info displays, just the mileometer and tripmeter and reset button. Pressing the reset button doesn't do anything. I know on the scale of things this is a fairly trivial problem, but being self employed I need to keep a record of mileage for tax. Any ideas? Thanks.
  10. Thanks for reply. Switches on doors seem to be working OK. Tailgate not working. I can't see where the switch is on the tailgate. I'm guessing that it's on one of the locking catches (prob drivers side). The wiring through the tailgate has been "repaired" and there's a connector block loose in the bottom of the tool compartment. I suspect that's where the problem lies. Is it much of a job to get the switch out?
  11. The courtesy lights on my 2000 (Wreg)TD are taking about 10mins to go out, which is a bit distracting while driving. Reading through some previous posts on the subject it seems there's a controller under a floor panel behind the passenger seat on some models which can get wet and cause problems. I've had a look on mine and there's nothing there (apart from a few sticky sweets from the previous owner!). Can anyone tell me where else I could find it. Any other advice on how to sort this out would be appreciated. Thanks
  12. Brilliant link. Just what i'd been looking for :) :(
  13. Thanks Rik. I'll try and interpret the Haynes wiring diagram. I'm not holding my breath
  14. Hi Rik. A bit off topic, but which remote locking system have you gone for. I've got the 2000 Mk1 and have been thinking about it. I've been reading some previous posts and was surprised how cheap they are. The only problem seems to be deciding where to site it and break into the wiring.
  15. Update. I managed to find a mobile auto-locksmith and he came and cut and programmed a spare key for
