  2. ah yes!! never though to mention the p/shopped brakes too, sorry to get you all exited boys and girls(my bad)
  3. a kind member from another forum did me a p/shop of my wheels onto my galaxy http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/5863/brembo1n.jpg looks better than it will when i DO fit my wheels
  4. I wouldn't put a petrol g/box in a diesel(without checking the final drive ratios anyway),i tried it in my passat(auto)and the final drive ratios were all wrong an it was pulling 3500rpm at about 65mph...
  5. i know it's not quite a galaxy but...my friend had apex springs on his passat and was very impressed by them although the yellow coating soon goes flakey on them :)
  6. hi matey,it could be the comfort control module(or ccm for short)which is fixed under the carpet-under the passenger seat...it can suffer from water ingress caused by either blocked sunroof drain holes or blocked plenum drains(under the bonnet in the far corners)..... or it could be broken wiring where the wiring runs through the doors to the main body of the car?? let us know if any of these are the case :)
  7. here's some pic's of my wind deflecters and my 8x17 wheels(just to get some idea of what they'd look like) http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/004-27.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/DSCN3059.jpg
  8. i got some heko ones for mine, they do the job fine and don't seem to add any noise at all,in fact they cut the noise down when the windows are open http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/004-27.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/001-24.jpg
  9. i like to try and keep my cars presentable....but £200 on cleaning gear?? that seems like ocd..obsessive cleaning disorder to me. a decent polish and wax bought once a year seems to keep my cars in check(and i have 3 children) my old passat looked like this...(after a quick wash and polish) http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/005-17.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/048-1.jpg
  10. Here as promised,my heko wind deflectors http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/001-24.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/004-27.jpg
  11. i got me some of them there wind deflectors, look good and do the job great!! pic's when i have time :P
  12. If it only does it on full lock i would suspect it's just the power steering pump having a grumble at being worked so hard, try not to do it for long periods as it is just trying to do it's job,but it is at maximum load under a lot of pressure on full lock... hope this helps?? p.s. nowt to worry about as long as there is no fluid loss?
  13. me..slightly drunk at a wedding, the slight squint is intentional....the double chin is not http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/043-2.jpg and what i look like when i'm not at weddings http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/022-3.jpg and in fancy dress http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh287/stylin-passat/DSCN1879.jpg
  14. s-reg passat tdi will be a B5 model and will also be front wheel drive(not rear)the engines in passats came in 90bhp and 110bhp(i believe that most mk1 galaxy's are 90bhp)and are indeed the same AFN code engines but for a bit of fun try to get a 110 bhp...the manifolds might be different but as far as i can see the engines are the same.. good luck and i hope this helps :)
  15. passat wheels will fit..... :)
