  1. it`s a 2004 TDI the key part number correct, i now have had the old key repaired and checked it is working but still cannot program it. i have had a look in the door for a broken wire as when i try to unlock the tailgate the main doors stay locked. would it be possible to fit an after market remote locking kit? or would it interfere with the one on the car?
  2. new key came fitted the new part to my key part started the programming er no still no joy apart from a key fob what part can fail in the car itself any ideas
  3. i have been searching through the other messages about keys and their problems here`s mine the remote key unlocks the car manually starts the car no problem, i just can`t open the car via the remote buttons etc the led comes on for both switches. i have tried to reprogramme the key in the door lock turn unlock 3 times etc etc but the door light stays off. should i get another remote via e bay with the same code number and swap the blades would this work ?
  4. well now it`s ok at 70 just wants to kangaroo when cold for a few minutes, if i let it warm up on the drive there`s no problem it will drive great
  5. Hi all my mk1 2.3 seams to miss fire (only way i can explain it) when cold for the first few minutes, then runs ok until i reach around 70 and then it starts again, this has happened now since my battery was replaced, but that was a few weeks ago all the best Dave
  6. Relay 30 will not stop engine turning over but will stop engine firing it is the power relay for engine ECU (ignition & injectors) Check your starter connections (live & earth) also check solenoid for power when key is turned. turns out it was an ignition starting switch what ever that is not bad a
  7. only click i can hear is from the fuse/ relay box inside the car
  8. Hi all my 2.3 petrol 1997 mk1 galaxy will not turn over all the dash lights up and all the electrics work, the battery is new and fully charged, but when i turn the key it`s dead will not turn over. i have fitted a new number 30 relay and it`s still the same.
