Hi guys, this is very helpful. Before I start, do I need to remove the battery or can this job be doone with the battery in situ?

My aircon stopped working so I did the obvious and had the gas checked at a local service centre. I was told that the pressure was fine but that I needed to replace the compressor at an eye-watering price. All of the posts I have read here seem to do with loss of pressure unless I have missed something. Any suggestions?

I hope someone out there can help me. I recently replaced my front disks and pads on a 2001 Galaxy Ghia 2.3 auto. (Thanks to help from an excellent article by member LIM) Since doing that I have had constant rattling from the front wheels. There is also a faint knocking sound that isat the same frequency as the rotation of the wheels. As soon as I touch the brake pedal the noise stops. I have removed the wheels and tried moving the pads to see if the are loose but gewt no movement.I have also checked the retaining clip and it is securely in place. Any ideas?
