its funny cause i have a n reg 2.0l aspen and mine seems the same with the revs.....just doesn't seem interested once it gets to a certain rev (between 4000 an 4500)....i've noticed that the tube that comes of the air filter into the mass flow meter is missing a clip and one side is not tight....figured it might be getting too much air flowing through (dunno if that would be a problem) but think i will try a new fuel filter

Central Locking
jonesblakey replied to wilberwinky's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
forgot to mention if it turns out to be fuse then check to see if you have a leak in footwell when it rains......if there is then it could possibly be scuttle drains are blocked or the rear washer pipe has disconnected under passenger trim....again i had this problem and f&q section has it covered. -
Central Locking

i had this problem.....have u checked the fuses?....its a 10amp fuse and i replaced that and it solved my problem.....other problem could be the wires in the door sometimes get frayed with the door opening and closing all the time....there is a step by step guide on how to check and fix these wires in the technical f&q....thats how i found out how to check them...but would suggest the fuse being checked first if you havent already.....hope this helps -
Water Leaking In
jonesblakey replied to jonesblakey's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
thanks very much....will do that next time its dry.....roll on next summer!!! -
we just had some heavy rain (hooray for british summer!) and i noticed that there is a leak coming in frok behind the glove compartment. it seems to me after reading the forum its a common problem and the usual suspect is the scuttles under the bonnet....just wanted to know if there was anywhere else i need to check as well....i do not have a sunroof. i also noticed my demisters are not very good (to put it politely) i do get power out of them but they dont do a very good job. i been told that there is summat under the passenger seat thats for central locking and windows and im just wondering if the leak could be causing problems to that as i do have intermitting problems thanks for any help....i have 1995 aspen 2.0l

me again ;) .....i have checked the fuses in the fuse box under the bonnet and found the big green 30amp fuse has blown....see attatched....does anyone know what this fuse does as i have not found any problems with the car although i have only had it a couple of months and i dont know how long its been like that. i have also brought an alarm for the car which comes with the wires for the central locking to make it remote central locking.....any suggestions the best place to join the wires 2.0l 1995 aspen....many thanks

there is a bit of travel when i brake and i know that a new brake caliper was fitted to the front drivers side.....i took it to a garage to get the brakes bled and they said the pad retaining clip on the new caliper was missing and this could be the reason why there is travel on the brake as everything else is fine....the problem is that none of the scrap yards that are local to me have any galaxys/sharans or alhambras so i wanted to ask if anyone knew if there was anywhere i can order one from as i been told that you can only get one if you buy a new caliper.....i have a 1995 2.0l aspen....thanks

Bleeding Brakes
jonesblakey replied to jonesblakey's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
thanks for reply.....decided to leave it to pros....local garage is gonna check brakes and bleed them for -
ford galaxy 2.0l 1996 mk1 i have had to replace the central locking fuse twice in the last couple of weeks also the electric window switch for the passenger side located in the drivers door does not work.....i have noticed people have refered to the wires in the door can become frayed with opening and closing the door....could these 2 problems be related due to the frayed wires or could it just be a bad earth many thanks in advance

i have a ford galaxy "n" reg 2.0l aspen......it has just had a new brake calliper fitted and think they didn't bleed the brakes afterwards....instead of taking it back to the garage and probably be without for days an incure further charge i was just wonderin if anyone knew the correct procedure for bleeding the brakes and what order i have to do it in as i have been told there is a certain way to do it.....if anyone can tell me how to i would be very grateful. also whats the best way to check the clutch is fine on the car thanks
