  1. Thanks for your help, and I think you might be right but unfortunately I have already sent the car off to my local ford dealer (just need it sorting quickly) I haven't heard anything from them yet and it went yesterday around noon.
  2. Yes I did try this method and the key does flash 5 times but the door LED does not flash at all and Central locking is not working when drivers door lock is operated by key manually or remote. I have had the car taken to my local Ford Garage and waiting for the dreaded phone call to tell me what the damage is !!! I've a feeling it may be something like Chrispb said. but it's in the lap of the Gods now. (may the lord have mercy on my car)
  3. Hello all, This is my first time posting a problem although I have often read through similar problems to mine with my Galaxy. It's a 2001 (X) 1.9tdi zetec mk2 My latest problem is, my one and only ignition key will not remotely open my doors or deactivate my imobilizer. I can open the door manually with the key and turn on the ignition but the engine just turns over without starting. This problem started when I opened the o/s door and the horn/alarm started blasting out, I tried frantically to stop it but pressing the unlock button on my key but it would not stop, then after a minute or so it did stop, but I haven't been able to start it ever since. Tried putting new batteries in the key, (the small chip is still in the key) but does anyone know if there is a correct way round to fit it, because mine is loose and I did have to refit it into the key body ?? Anyhow after fitting the new bateries the LED on the key does flash when pressing the buttons, and will flash 5 times after doing the 3 turns of the door lock etc, but the LED on the door does not come on or flash during that process. Also the car indicator lamps do not flash to say the imobilizer is armed or disarmed (but I must assume it is in the imobilized state since the engine won't start) Does anyone have any idea's???? Is there some sort of reset proceedure (and I have read that you need 2 programmed keys to reset something or is that just to reprograme more blank keys??) Any help would be welcome, but I do have a provisional booking at my local Ford dealer on Monday 4th July (will have to have it recovered to them) Thanks for listening Ianfazz
