hi thanks for the reply, ill pass the sugestion on. just out of interest how would the spare key prevent the immobilizer from kicking in im am used to older cars and these electrical faults are a bit beyond me but im keen to learn. also if he has no spare key what can be done to bypass immobilizeras a tempory fix. many thanks

Hi all, i have always done my own veichle repairs but have never encountered converting an auto to a manual. the auto box has gone anyway and if replacing i want to make it 6 speed manual, its on a diesel mk2 anyway. what is the parts list and is it way more work than just swapping the box, all parts will come from salvage. any advice or openions are welcome : ) many thanks in advance
