If the timing has slipped,why can i smell oil burning?

Please help,I came off the motorway tonight and my 99 TDI has lost it's power, when the car is stationary I can see alot of white smoke. The smoke smells like oil burning. I know it's not the MAF because that's been changed once before. Thanks in advance. ;)

Hello, does anybody use 100% biodiesel? I've read so many conflicting reports about it. Diesel at the moment is 96.9 and bio 79.9 so there's quite a bit of saving here. Any help would be appreciated

Not sure messed about with hi level lights replaced switch and bulbs eventally came on think there was some water ingress

Hi, Replaced switch still no lights only the hi level brake can anyone suggest were to start with bad earths. Thanks in advance.

Where do i start checked the back lights for broken wires :huh:

If its the switch how come ive got some brake lights, dont understand it.

This all started with a flashing glow plug. Checked brake lights and they were not working. Removed the switch from the brake pedal and cleaned all the contacts and put it back together and yippee my high level brake light was working but no other brake lights. The glow plug has now stopped flashing. I have checked all the bulbs there ok. Can anyone help. I have also noticed that 2 of the high level bulbs have now stopped working. Thanks in advance ;)
