  1. Thanks for the advice - I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough. It was the Bearings that were failing so I needed to bypass it completely. Actually I got really lucky and found a private seller who had taken one off the car he was scrapping, he only lived 10 miles away so I picked it up, fitted job done - 200,000 miles is now well within reach, fingers crossed!
  2. My aircon pump is failing and threatening to disable the car as lots of other stuff runs off it. Price of a new pump is too much for the value of the car and the aircon hasnt worked for years. Does any one know if there is a way of disabling the aircon pump but keeping everything else running (take aircon pulley off and fit a shorter belt perhaps)
  3. Thanks I'll see if I can find a breakers in Biringham and have that "spare" just in case - with a good length of wire I could then make the splices in the door compartment which gets them away from all the flexing
  4. Hi I have read the (brilliant) pdfs and set out to replace my door wires which have all cracked and / or brocken. Unfortunately one of the wires has broken off right at the connector. The pin it should be attached to is loose but I can't get it out and don't want to break it - advice please
  5. I have a fixed tobar and bought a MaxxRax for it 3 Galaxys and 1 volvo ago. It's still going strong on the back of my Galaxy now - Brilliant bit of BRITISH kit
