  1. I just had the mot result on my 2002 19tdi (AUY) and its a fail on excessive wear of the Inner front drive shaft coupling. my question is, how much do these retail at and is it a big job. The mot station quoted
  2. Bit of a bump on this one. I have the clutch & flywheel now and went out to the car for the first time since I towed it home. The clutch still feels fine, but is not selecting, does that mean its more than likely the cable has come off or snapped bolt? and if so how are they to fix. Its getting the flywheel & clutch fitted on Monday, but I'll need to acquire any other parts I need quickly, before my mates boss comes back and wonders why car is on his ramp! Also is it a no brainer to change the gearbox oil whilst doing the clutch and flywheel? and any other parts needed other than the sachs dualmass flywheel, clutch & hydraulic bearing thing?
  3. Hi, I have a 1.9tdi 52 plate galaxy ghia. Its the 6 speed model with the AUY engine code. For a while now we have known the flywheel was on its last legs, with the doors wobbling on there hinges and depressing the clutch solving the vibration. Well last week we started having problems getting gear and it finally gave up the ghost completely. It appears the clutch has gone, as it does not bite at all, but the gearbox is still free (you can select all gears but not engage them) and the clutch is now soft. The flywheel is also still juddering away. Now what is likely to have brocken and what do I replace? Is it the clutch plates gone, caused by the faulty flywheel? Gearbox? I'm also on the lookout for good parts suppliers for anything I'll need. Also depending what is wrong, are there any other associated parts that would be replaced at the same time? Cheers, Andy.
