The tyres and balance are fine. That was the first thing I thought of. There is definate knock from full lock to full lock. The wheel wobble is different to when the balance is out, it doesn't come and go at certain speeds, its slightly heavy and the steering wheel needs to be held off centre slightly and there is a slight vibration throught the steering. I was expecting bushes etc on the MOT, the guy had a good look because he could hear the knock as he was moving the car around the garage to get it on the ramp. It must be a non MOT item, but what? Braking is fine. Thank you for your help.

I've got a 2001 VW Sharan, new shape, just the same as a Galaxy. Its just gone throught the MOT with very few problems, but one thing the garage didn't pull me up on was the knock I get on the steering. I was expecting it to be a failure and to get a repair bill for it. The mechanic said its not right, he heard the knock too but it wasn't an MOT failure and he couldn't see what was wrong with it. I'm also getting a slight judder on the motorway and the steering does feel a little heavy. It almost feels like the tracking is off. I've not taken it to the garage yet for them to have a look because I thought it would be picked up on the MOT. It would be nice if there was a quick fix I could do myself. Any ideas? Thank you.
