Thanks for the help, I checked the turbo today and the main pipe had come apart, their is a steel pipe that goes into a rubber hose and the clip had slipped off, and the steel pipe came out off the hose, i put them back together replaced the clip and all is back to normal, full power no noise and no smoke, happy days. Hi My 2001 mk2 galaxy 1.9 turbo diesel started to blow black smoke and make a funny hissing and a metal grating noise like something spinning and also looses power when under pressure which results in very heavy black smoke coming out. has anyone got any idea what this could be. Ps it only makes the grinding noise when accelerating, if you ease of the throttle the noise stops but also gets faster when accelerating
