I've just been quoted £970 for a new dual Mass Flywheel and clutch on our 57 plate 2007 Galaxy 1.8TDCi.. I thought I'd check on here to see if there was any recall campaign (I'm shocked that it has failed at 70,000 miles!) but been told by Ford that there isn't.. (there was for earlier galaxys where there was a flywheel fault, apparently..) Last hope now is that the warranty company will pay put as we bought a (probably worthless..) insurance backed warranty when we bought the car second hand. I'd imagine they'd say 'no' if it was just the clutch - but maybe as it's the flywheel?? Fingers crossed - but not holding my breath.. It's a right kick in the teeth too, as we emigrate soon and the car will be being sold in a few weeks! Though I suppose better than having a new buyer think I'd stitched them up if it were to have happened next month..
