  1. Hi all Galaxy 2.3 Zetec 2001 72000 miles. Driving to work this morning on the motorway (60mph),the car had a sudden loss of power and emitted white/light grey smoke from exhaust. Power seemed to regain itself fairly quickly but when I put my foot on the throttle, more smoke emitted. At the earliest opportunity (thinking I had a blockage), I put my foot down hard and reached 70mph, whereby, as I drove into work, no smoke was apparent and revs/power seemed back to normal. Revving up once parked up seemed all ok. Temperature gauge normal. I did top up the washers/top reservoir and oil in the last couple of days, so maybe down to a spillage ??. Not sure about the sudden loss of power though. Any thoughts ??
  2. Galaxy 2.3 Zetec 2001: Hello. What a great forum !! I too have a similar problem with the continuous tone on the sensors. I have found that often it's just a piece of dirt on one or two sensors that trigger this or, if you have been in a car wash, a rough brush may have dislodged one slightly. Regular checks and clean with a soft cloth over the sensors does the trick quite often. Check this first - should save a few hundred quid !!! All the best.
  3. On odd occasions only, my wiper arms decide to become very slow in operation and often stop. To eliviate this problem, I have to turn off, then turn on the ignition again to get the arms to return to the normal resting place when off. It appears to be electrical, maybe a loose connection at the motor, but have read elsewhere that the system can get seized up. Any hints anyone before I take it to my local garage ?????
