Thanks paul when the noise first started the engine oil was low i topped it up with ordinary oil i have since been told this was wrong i should have used a special oil for the lifters any thoughts on this thanks

Please can someone help me ive just bought a r reg 2.3 petrol galaxy it was fine until a week ago started to miss fire under tick over but very slight when put under load sounds like the cam is going to rattle off. ihave changed coilpack plus and leads no change i have also done a compression test 1 and 2 are at 150 and 4 ad 4 are 60. could it be head gasket or valve im gutted as had to beg and borrow for this car thanks chris
