Hi Guy's and Girl's My name is Andy i joined the forum just over a month ago and posted a plee for help ........... but not had any responses, read all the helpfull fact's and now so desperate for advice or help ...... allow me to explain i bought this baby a month and a half ago and for the first 2 week's it was a dream it's a MK1 (1997) 2.8 auto then on my way to tesco's one afternoon stopped at traffic light's and when they went green the car decided it was'nt going to move just sit and rev it's nuts off but refused to go ...... eventually (2 light sequences later) i managed to get it to creep forward at approx 5200 rpm ... i nursed it home (approx 5 miles) reving up to about 6000 then letting the rev's drop and catching it at about 5000 got it home .... still have reverse no problems at all just no forward gear's in 1,2,3,D ... so next day drained oil replaced filter and refilled .... fingers crossed started her up !!! ....... still nothing just creep's at about 4 to 5000 rpm so that's my problem just wondered if anyone else has had this problem or know's what's wrong thanks for your help Desperate Galaxy Newbie :rolleyes:

Yes i just purchased a mk1 v6 i love it and will do all the work on it myself sooner than i thought as the car no longer want's to drive forward only reverse trying to find solutions now but had no replies yet i to don't trust dealers having worked for them for 15 years ( enough said ) just wished i knew a little more about these as my previous 3 people carriers have been toyota lucida's which i know inside out .... and specialise in fiat's as that's who i worked for .... the poor old galaxy i don't know enough about yet but learning fast

ok getting desperate now ..... spent the day doing a complete drain filter change and refill in the hope that was the problem ....... but no still no drive in 1st 2nd 3rd or drive ....... reverse is still fine please guy's any idea's or have i purchased a dud !!

Hi guy's newbie i'm afraid ......... i bought this wagon a week ago and it's been great love it oh yea it's 1997/8 2.8 ghia v6 with 4 speed auto then yesterday at the worst junction and traffic lights i went to pull away and nothing diddly squat !! so i put hazards on and sat there reving as you do in desperation and i get to about 5500 revs and it just about starts to move then you let the revs drop to about 2600 and it starts to pull but you have to hold the throttle at that point so i managed to nurse it home in rush hour traffic (got a few angry fist gestures lol ) when i got home i selected reverse and that's fine just no forward gears also noticed that the air/con has now stopped and the heater panel and roof clock no longer light up (illumination) any idea's ?????
