  1. Aahh nice one Mirez, Funny you should mention it, I do now have a squeeling/ hissing noise especially when engine is under load, and accelerating It has only started recently and it does sound a bit like air leakage, but I suppose it could well be the Aux belt?? No other symptoms you mentioned though.I'm getting it checked out next week, and I'm glad you pointed out which belt it is Lol :P Cheers again.
  2. Hi Guys, Just after some info regarding Cambelt tensioner. I purchased my Galaxy around March 2011 and the cambelt had just been changed in the January. Someone who was working on my vehicle happened to mention he thought my tensioner was at the end of it's travel and I may need the belt looking at! The belt is in good condition but the tensioner is at one end. Now I do not know whether it needs adjusting or it is at it's full travel so any help would be grateful. See pic for position. Cheers, Rich.
  3. Hi Guys, I've had my MkII 1.9TDI since March and needed to fix a problem with a blowing exhaust. So I had the vehicle up on axle stands front near and rear near side. I managed to access the exhaust and repair the fault. The vehicle was on the stands over night and I started it up to check the exhaust 24hrs after jacking it up. Still on the axle stands i ran the vehicle for 5 mins. This is when I noticed a large amount of what looked, felt and smelt like hydraulic fluid. Dropping the vehicle and driving it round the block there doesn't seem to be any more leakage. Can anyone explain where it has come from and why? I've checked the fluid levels on power steering but cannot see the whereabouts of the master cylinder level for brakes, to check this. I'm hoping this happened due to being up on stands but can't work out why.??? Any assistance on this matter would be most welcome as I'm driving up North this weekend and would like reassureance there is nothing serious going on.
  4. Ok guys, I've managed to get the vehicle into program mode but when I press the lock unlock in sequence mentioned on the fob key the key fob light flashes 5 times but the door lock led does not flash. Hence the fob has not been accepted. I have changed the batteries within the fob key but still no joy. Is it critical where you position the key when programming? Is this just an issue with the key fob? The key itself is programmed to the pats system ok, I just want it to open and close the doors remotely  Any help would be good, cheers, Just an update to this post. After taking the key apart and cleaning I managed to programme it to lock the doors but not open them!! So it seems to be an issue with the circuit board I assume. Will keep plugging away :(

  6. So basically I can't get a remote key unless I go to Fraud! Bloody marvellous, new I shouldn't have gone back to Ford!! :)
  7. Hi Guys, Just purchased a 2nd hand Galaxy 1.9TDI MkII. The dealer only supplied me with one key which works everything but is not remote. Could anyone tell me whether (pic) this is the right type of key for a MKII?? I have read somewhere that you can have the 3 button key if your rear tailgate has a motor, which it has. I know I'll have to get this type of key programmed but I do not want to go to Fraud as they have quoted
