Hi all, wordering if anyone could shed some light on a problem I may have or may not have(im not very mechanical minded).. whene I start the 1.9 tdi 2001 AUY engine and open the oil filler cap I get some steam like condensation from it also whene removing the dip stick I also get some steam of sort coming out, the car doesn't seem to over heat (goes between 80 and 90 degrees) and don't have any smoke coming out of the exhaust and does not use any water, any info would be very appreciate.....

Did the work get done mate? Thinking of doing the same job my self.....

Need 2 footwell covers for MKII gal, also looking for driver side and passenger side side winder's (the circle knobs on side of seat)... if you have any suggestion of where I could get them would be very appreciated, thanks Darren....

Just wondering if any one could help.... my problem is I have steam coming from the oil filler cap whene removed, the car doesn't seem to be overheating and no smoke coming from the exhaust (only on cold starts) it does have a bit of milky scum under the cap .. my car is a 2001 1.9tdi gal. Any help would be greatfull...

Does anyone have or know where I can get some footwell covers and the round knobs which reclines the driver and passenger seat?.....

Hi all, I have a y reg 2001 tdi and thismorning I was checking the oil and water levels,whene I decided to turn on the engin and remove the oil filler cap and could hear a knocking sound. whene I put the cover back on it would drown out the noise. Just wondering if this is normal or am I just paranoid. Any suggestions would be very appreciated, thanks Darren....

Thank for your reply seatkid, the grinding of the gear change was not there before but it only grind's whene changing up or down to 2nd. I did do a check on the DMF before changing it there was a hell of a metal v metal noise on start up and when in idle once you put your foot on the cluch it would stop, also the car was shaking like hell due to the out of balance DMF. Since having my 2001 1.9 tdi back from the garage after replacing the dual mass flywheel the back reverse light don't work. I have tried changing the bulbs and also tried banging it into reverse with no joy... could some one please give me any pointers to what I should be looking for or what might be the cause.... many thank Darren

Iv recently changed the DMF slave valve and cluch about 2 weeks ago.. Now I have a grinding like noise whene I Change from 1st to 2nd and if I make the gear change slowly there is no grinding nois, also whene I accelerate or take my foot off the gas quickly I get a clunking noise,also on hard acceleration from 2nd to 3rd I get a slight wobble from the front end... could any one help please!!

Just wondering if anyone could help me, whene i start up my 2001 tdi gal and run the car for about 6-9 miles the temp gauge goes up to about 80 to 90 on the clock but does not go above the this. Is this normal or am I just paranoid as I only bought the car 4 weeks ago and never owned a gal before, any help would be fantastic.....

Hi all, any suggestions where I could locate the rear screen wash pipe inside the car,as nothing is coming out of the rear wash...

Got my car back from garage today no vibrating no metal banging together, also the missfire has gone (don't know how but it has) happy day's. All down to that DMF so hopefully no more problems. (Touch wood..........)

Hi there Jon sorry to bother you again, but drove my galaxy today and done about 75 miles and after about 55 miles every time I accelerated the car sounded like it was blowing and tractor like sound would the flywheel cause a sound like this whene putting the foot on the gas?? Many thanks Darren........

Iv recently been told that my flywheel needs changing as it made a banging noise whene stationery and whene you press the clutch it stoped. My problem now is that its difficult changing gear and whene I accelerate there is like a blowing or a tractor like sound, would the flywheel cause this kind of noise, any help would be gratefully thanks......

It sounds like you need a new flywheel......

Thanks for that jon, I have had a price off my local garage for a new DMF+cluch+slave valve for £450+£250 labour, for that price i cant go wrong... Just wondering jon if that cured the problem for you'r car?? many thank for you'r reply Darren
