Thanks. All done now. I'd already found the bolt behind that panel but couldn't work out how to get the cluster out. It seemed that there ought to be some secret to accessing the back of the unit. Reading between the lines ( this is a fiddly job ) I realised that I just had to get the three awkward brassy nuts inside undone... Thanks again Huck

Hmm after a car park incident my tail light has to be replaced. Bought a second hand body section. but I cant locate fastenings on the unit ... the brassy bolts look very awkward for usual spanners and the bottom of the unit looks fully enclosed in rear quarter and bumper trim... I've found and removed two likely looking bumper bolts but cant see anymore contenders and all is still very firmly in place...Help!
