  1. Hi Chaps, the problem was to be broken red & black wires in the loom on the right hand side. Sorted now, thank you chaps. The brown wire on the left hand side didn't go any where. Pulled out yards of wire that wasn't connected to anything? Everything works now as it should. Cheers, Kev.
  2. Hi Dave, thanks. I will check this. Yeah, looks like someone has been at the wires before as I found other wires that have been joined / spliced together. The high level brake light had been working before so as you have said, it may have come apart from the left hand brake contact on the back of the lamp. Cheers Kev.
  3. Hi guys, the high level brake light isn't working on my 1999 2.3 GLX Gal. I did a bit of investigating and have noticed a brown wire which runs from the high level brake light to the n/s/r light lense isn't connected to anything. I'm not very good on car electrics so I'm asking you guys where it's connected to? The Haynes manual wiring diagramme isn't very helpfull. Thanking you in advance, cheers, Kev
  4. Hi, I fitted a second hand osf door wiring loom today and now the electric windows go up and down as they should and also the speaker works too. The problem I now have is that when I unlock the drivers door with the key (no remote) all the other doors inc. tailgate stay locked? I worked out that with the drivers door open if I turned the key in the drivers door twice anti-clock wise the other doors unlock? This wasn't a problem before any ideas guys. Thanking you in advance, Kev.
  5. Hi, I'm looking to buy a load cover for my 1999 Mk1 Galaxy GLX. What's needed to attach the load cover to the sides of the interior? cheers, Kev.
  6. Hi, just to update, Took about 10 minutes to replace the passenger side cup holder on the Mk1 Gal :-) Lift up gear stick surround, undo 2 philips screws, then pull out ash tray and housing, undo 2 more philips screws. Lift away console and click out the cup holder from the bottom. Re-place in reverse order. Happy days Kev.
  7. Fag lighter socket now works :) Blown fuse was the problem. According to the manual should be a 20 amp fuse. Cheers guys, Kev.
  8. Hi, I think I'll have to do the same as you as my cigar lighter socket not working when tried to use the sat nav in it. Kev
  9. Just bought a new passenger side cup holder to replace a broken one, BUT, how do they come off? The new one dosn't seem to have any screws etc. Anyone changed one? Kev.
  10. Hi Saif, It's a 1999 Mk1. Is the fuse in the same place as the Mk2? Kev.
  11. I noticed the fag lighter socket not working when I went to plug the sat nav in. Where is the fuse for it or could it be something else? Any ideas? Thanking you in advance, Kev
  12. Thanks Cyborg, I heated the metal surrounding the sensor a little bit, but still didn't move. I resulted in your second suggestion and drilled it out little by little. Time consuming, but well worth the hassle. Cleaned out the hole with WD40 and dryed, and then when I drove to around 20 mph the ABS light went out. Result. Saved me a few quid. The sensor cost me
  13. OK, disconected at the plug end underneath, then unscrewed the allen headed screw at the other end, but still won't pull out? Looking at the new one there dosesn't seem to be anything else holding it in? Any ideas how to get it out would be much appreciated as I have an MOT at 3pm tomorrow ;) cheers, Kev.
  14. As title says, what's involved any special tools? How long would this take? Thanking you guys in advance, Kev.
  15. Hi, got the same problems, drivers window won't open but the passenger one goes down but won't go up with the drivers side switches.Drivers door speaker not working either. I shall take a look at the loom. Thanks for the heads up guys :) Kev
  16. Hi, I live in Welwyn Garden City, thanks Kev
  17. Hi, new on here and have had the Galaxy for only a couple of months. The ABS dashboard light comes on. The previous owner said he had all the brakes checked and are ok? The light goes out when it seems the car gets very wet, ie, car wash? It goes for an MOT on Thursday, will it fail on the light being on in the dash if the brakes work OK? Any help appreciated, cheers, Kev.
