  1. OOPS REPLACED CRANKSHAFT SENSOR INSTEAD OF THE SPEED SENSOR .IV`E NOW FOUND THE SPEED SENSOR ,HAYNES MANUAL SAYS IT`S A TWO SPANNER JOB ,IT`S NOT ,THEIR PICS SHOW A GEARBOX ON THE FLOOR WITH IT CLEARLY VISIBLE IT`S, NOT ,IT`S UNDER THE BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE GEAR CHANGE CABLES ,I REMOVED THE WATER TOP UP BOTTLE ,FUEL FILTER,PIPE TO THE EGR VALVE TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE THREE BOLTS HOLDING THE GEAR CABLE BRACKET,ONE OF THEM IS A REAL PIG TO GET AT ,THEN GOT UNDER THE CAR AND UNBOLTED THE SENSOR AND REPLACED IT WITH A NEW VW PART ,FRAUDS WANTED
  2. I don`t have a pick ,just changed the crankshaft speed sensor it`s just to the right below the oil filter base on the front of the engine block it has a light grey connector ,hope this helps
  3. I had similar problem it was noisy ,found the belt had lost portions of it`s surface in a few places making it chatter ,changed the belt noise stopped
  4. Hi i had a similar problem with the airbag light ,it turned out to to be showing a low battery fault ,fitted a new one cleared the fault code no problems since
  5. i had a similar problem with my Mk 2 tdi ,it came up as low battery when testing it ,fitted new battery had the fault code removed and the lights now out

My son had the same problem earlier this year,it turned out to be a break in the wiring loom on the boot ,a number of wires had broken and were shorting against each other ,another symptom was no number plate lights ,i soldered the faulty wires and shrink wrapped them replaced a fuse and on came the lights .
  7. i had a similar problem ,and a simple fix via the forum was to remove the front of the heater controls then disconnect the two wiring connectors ,turn the ignition on and off and reconnect plugs ,it worked give it a try

Hi I am trying to replace the leaking servo on my Mk 2 Galaxy got nearly everything off ,but for the servo pushrod into the Brake pedal , looking at it with a mirror it has a nylon type block with two locking tags ,how the heck do they release ! ,is there any simple way to unclip the push rod from the pedal Cheers
  9. i have the same problem ,on my i.9 tdi mk2 didn`t want to start ,then it did,runs ok for a while. exhaust smells more than usual,now it won`t fire up at all ,

  12. High here`s a strange one the heater control panel does not lite up ,and the heater has stopped working,fan works fine,i have checked fuses they are ok ,any ideas
